I went on my second dress shopping outing on Monday, this time to House of Brides, after having a bad experience at David’s Bridal in September. Since I want to keep my dress a surprise and not public on the Internet, I won’t talk much about what I liked and didn’t, though I did find a dress I liked quite a bit. It was good that I went, but also very stressful, since there was a significant “hard sell” part to it, where the woman essentially offered me $400 off if I would buy that day. I’m glad I didn’t, but it really flared up my anxiety to be presented with that kind of decision. I have my mom and Nicole to thank for getting me through that one.
Next up on our list is nailing down a photographer. It would be nice if I can (somehow) get this done by the end of the year, first because our date is probably pretty popular and second because I have a feeling that may be when prices normally increase.
Also, I’m scheduled to meet with St. John’s sacrament coordinator on Monday to sign papers and figure out what options we have for Pre-Cana. Because of the recent unexpected death of our pastor, Father Ted, I’m not entirely sure what priests will be available to our church for the ceremony, so that’s something else to consider. There is much to do, and less time to do it in.
