Guest Goodies

On Saturday, Jim and I got the chance to meet with Paulina, the new event coordinator at Wyndham Garden.  The meeting was about 90 minutes, but we got a lot figured out.  It was good to meet face to face, since there were some things she needed clarification on and other things I needed to work out with her (3 pages of them, actually).

She did arrange for some extra freebies for us, which is incredible.  For example, our hotel guests will receive a complimentary hot breakfast which will be served in Entre; it’s usually $10 extra.  She mentioned it would include pancakes, sausage, eggs, french toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and such.  She also explained more about the hotel shuttles for guests.  Basically, if you’re flying in just for our wedding, you can pay an extra $20 and you won’t have to rent a car to get to and from the airport and ceremony, so long as you let them know in advance.  I updated the Accommodations page to reflect this.

Paulina also said she would throw in chair covers and sashes for free, so I took her up on that.  I initially wasn’t keen on them, simply because they usually are absurdly expensive, and their normal chairs are a plain black color that didn’t seem so bad.  However, I get the feeling that she wants our wedding to look particularly nice so that she can use photos of it to advertise their space for weddings.  I don’t think they get many weddings there now, but they’re hoping to change that.

So, all in all, Paulina is just as accommodating as Laura was, if not more so, and she seems a lot more excited for our wedding.  Paulina seems to actually enjoy what she’s doing and wants to give us a really awesome wedding.  That’s very good news and a load off of my mind.
